These classes will be run over the three weeks starting Monday 6th April 2020 and going through to Tuesday 21st April, with the only exception being Tuesday 7th April due to a prior engagement.
Please note there will not be any sessions on Wednesday, 22nd – Friday 24th April 2020 since the SAJCL will be hosting and running the first City of Adelaide Internet Championships on those days – and of course all students can take part.

Students can book in for one or more sessions per day over the next 2.5 weeks
We will be using Zoom to connect with the students – you should download Zoom from zoom.com it will only take a few minutes and simply follow the instructions.
To take part in the class you need to register beforehand with Alan – simply text your email address and the Session you want to be part of to Alan’s phone 0401 67 2481
He will then send you an email with a link for you to click at the appropriate time for you to login and and take part. It is remarkably easy.
The lesson will consist of a demonstration of some key ideas – openings, tactics, strategies, good, useful stuff – on a chessboard on the screen for a short time using either ChessKid.com or chess.com or Lichess.org of some key ideas and then the students can play matches online or puzzles.

Each Coaching Class is suitable for youngsters of all levels and ages (6+) – from beginner (but a knowledge of how the pieces move will be assumed) to advanced.
The class covers many key ideas and consist of short lessons and games, all designed to help students discover the real joy of chess. Girls in particular are taught to counter-attack! Advanced students will discover ‘Savage chess’!
